My Puerto Vallarta restaurant recommendations

High end:

The Vista Grill -- Fabulous view, excellent service, great food (located in
the Romantic Zone)

Cafe des Artistes -- We did not personally go here, but according to many reports, this is the best gourmet restaurant in town. Please note that this is a very pricey restaurant. (Guadeloupe Sanchez 740/Leona Vicario-- Phone: 222-3228, Centro District)

Very Good Food but not real Pricey:

Trio's -- (One of our favorite restaurants in PV) Outstanding food, especially the seafood. Guerrero 264, Phone 222-2196, Centro District) web site: www.triopv.com

Mariscos Tinos -- (Probably our favorite restaurant) Located just outside PV in Piillal, which is a short cab ride from PV. It is definitely worth the trip...very reasonable, upscale food, especially the seafood and excellent service, too. Calle Avenida No. 333, Esq. Revolucion 224-5584 or 225-2171 web site: www.tinosvallarta.com

La Palapa -- Great ambiance in that you eat dinner on the beach by candlelight with your feet buried in the sand! Nice music to entertain while eating dinner, too. Very good seafood. Pulpito 103 (in front of La Palapa Condos in Old Town) I think the phone number is: 222-5225.

Barcelona Tapas -- Great view, good food, small portions ideal for sharing, excellent Sangria -- Matamoros & 31 de Octubre 222-0510

Italian:

Portobello -- Excellent Italian food, located in the Marina District. Marina Sol #7, 221-0003

Inexpensive, Fun & Good Food (Casual):

Pipi's -- Mexican -- (I highly recommend this place.) Huge portions, the best shrimp fajita burrito I ever had, local musicians serenade customers. Guadalupe Sanchex & Pipila, 223-2767

Victors -- Mexican -- located in the Marina District

Mariscos Tinos

I have to agree that Mariscos Tinos is one of the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. We dine at the one in Punta Mita all the time and love it. I think that thei bacon wrapped shrimp is to die for. Here is a link to the Beachfront restaurants in El Anclote where Marisco Tinos is located;

There is also a Cafe des Artistes there, as well.
